Access to music for all

Actions for young people without easy access to culture

We support the development of projects that enable young people in disadvantaged neighborhoods and rural areas to play music.

In 2022- 2023, we are supporting:

  • Le Grand Mélange, started by Marc Olivier Dupin
  • Hip baroque Choc created by Julien Chauvin and Concert de la Loge
  • La Maîtrise de Radio France in Bondy
  • Quartiers Musique in Nancy
  • Hors saison musicale, 160 workshops and concerts in 15 French departments

Sharing music with as many people as possible through digital

As a major partner of the Paris National Opera, we encourage cinemas in France and in over 30 other countries to show live and recorded operas and ballets. The “Opéra d’été” program organizes free open-air screenings in town squares across France. These outdoor screenings are attended by thousands of people who would not otherwise have the means to go to the opera.
Since 2020, during the health crisis, we have supported the launch of the Paris Opera’s digital music platform, which presents the best-known ballets and operas live and via streaming.

Helping to disseminate music with Festivals in France and Africa

We support festivals with daring programs and an international profile. These festivals are selected on the basis of specific philanthropy criteria (ability to accommodate young artists, creative and innovative programs, development of workshops and mediation activities for remote audiences, free concerts, diverse musical genres, etc.).

The Orange Foundation now strives to support festivals that have a varied program, mix different musical aesthetics, and dare to bring together artists from different musical worlds to create something new.

In 2022/23, the Orange Foundation is partnering with 20 festivals and seasons of vocal arts in France.*
Since 2019, the Orange Foundation has deployed its musical philanthropy across the African continent with the Orange Foundations in Africa. Together, we have chosen to support emerging world music, jazz, and contemporary music festivals that promote the countries’ musical heritage and book talented young African musicians and singers.

In 2023, the Orange Foundation and its selection committee have decided to support 20 music festivals and projects in Africa in 14 countries: Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Egypt, Liberia, Mali, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia.

La nuit de la Voix

Since 1991, the Foundation has organized its own musical event: la Nuit de la Voix. This event, which take place every year in a Paris concert hall, allow us to showcase the talented artists we discover and support.
Nuit de la Voix concerts bring together artists from different backgrounds and thereby give rise to unique musical creations. Every year, this highly successful event is recorded and broadcast by a national radio partner so that it can be enjoyed by many thousands of music-lovers.
