Learning is a formidable means of empowerment and community, allowing everyone to fulfill their potential and play their part in society. We strongly believe that it is essential to create the conditions needed to develop learning by working together.
Since 2014, the Orange Foundation has pursued an ambitious approach to education, harnessing digital technology to give new opportunities to young people and women aiming to integrate socially and find a job.
The context
This active approach to learning has become more popular recently, so we want to open up this call for projects to any associations that work to educate disadvantaged young people and that want to implement a collective project meeting a need through a tangible achievement.
This will help them develop cross-cutting skills (the 4Cs of education: Collaboration, Creativity, Communication, Critical Thinking), overcome obstacles, regain self-confidence, motivate, demonstrate their talent and play a part in society.
Call for projects guidelines
Associations are invited to propose a collective project allowing young people to learn cross-cutting skills. This project carried out by disadvantaged young people (from 13 years old until 25 years old) will lead to a specific “object” meeting a local need.
-
Innovative practices focusing on the collective project (lasting a minimum of 35 hours) to foster motivation, engagement, community and skills
-
Leading to a tangible achievement - “learning by doing” - useful for the association itself, another association, local authority, company or meeting a societal need to develop interactions, meaning.
Operational partnership required with the entity with the need, which will approve the brief, iterate during the project and attend the presentation of results -
Using digital (digital machines (FabLab), software, social media, etc.) and raising awareness of the responsible use of digital
-
In partnership with associations directly supporting these young people. Referral partner required if you do not directly support the young people (Second Chance Schools, EPIDE, association supporting disadvantaged young people, association for young refugees, cultural association, etc.) which supports them during and after the project to promote this experience and their developed skills
-
Results will be presented in the presence of partners
-
The associated budget (these actions must be free for this group) is realistic and does not include general operations or salaries of permanent workers. The Orange Foundation's financial support will correspond to participation in the project:
- Building the project and coordination with partner organization(s)
- Supporting young people during the project and promoting the action
- Purchasing equipment to carry out the project if needed -
- The ability to successfully carry out the project, the planned number of sessions/groups and the number of beneficiaries
- Associations supporting disadvantaged young people (Second Chance Schools, MJC, EPIDE, special training organizations, etc.)
-
Associations offering educational solutions (hands-on spaces (FabLab, third place, etc.), popular education association, etc.) in partnership with associations supporting young people
Important:
The association or NGO must be able to produce a tax receipt for donations.
Documents to attach to the application:
- Association bylaws
- Association budget
- Last audit report
- Summary of actions funded by the Orange Foundation for associations already receiving support (without this summary, the Foundation will not support a new project)
